DESERT RATS CHAPTER

First of all, we want to welcome new member Steven & Rochelle Aizenberg to our Chapter. They are from Las Vegas and we are looking forward to meeting them at our next rally.

The Desert Rats held their Board Meeting in January. Since the Chapter is only one year old, the Board members remain the same for this year. We set up our 4 rallies for 2009 and even had a “Drop of the hat” rally on February 13-14-15-16 in the Palm Springs area. Only two coaches showed up, but it was fun anyway. The other couple played golf one day while Shirley & I went to the Outlets and spent money. The other day, all 4 of us went to a Street Fair in Palm Springs, had lunch on Palm Canyon Drive and then walked and shopped. Even though the weather wasn’t the best, we bar-b-qued both nights and then had cocktails and dinner together in each other’s coaches.

Our next four rallies will be:

April 3-4-5 at Terrible’s Lakeside in Pahrump, NV
May 22-23-24-25 at Canyon RV Park in Anaheim Hills, CA
September 4-5-6-7 at Pechanga Indian Reservation in Temecula, CA
October 2-3-4 in Big Bear, CA, site TBA

Another topic discussed during our Board Meeting was how we can get more of our members involved in our Chapter. Nevada is a large state with very little activity between the two largest cities of Reno and Las Vegas. The distance between the two cities is 400 plus miles and some of our members work so it is difficult for everyone to get together for a weekend really.

Desert Rats Chapter shirts were discussed. Our Vice President and Treasurer are in the process of getting information on costs to purchase T-shirts and collared shirts as well as digitizing our logo. We hope to have our shirts by the next National Rally.

We already have two couples outside of our Chapter interested in joining us at the April & May rallies, so if anyone else is interested, please let us know so we can reserve additional spaces.
